CFL Exchange Program underway Replacing incandescent light bulbs with the longer-lasting, more energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs can save consumers about $30 or more in electricity costs over each bulb's lifetime. In July, Washington Electric Cooperative launched its CFL Exchange program by which Co-op members can exchange, at no cost, three of their incandescent light bulbs for three new CFLs. This removes the incandescent from service and immediately provides savings for the member. CFLs use about 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent light bulbs and last up to 10 times longer. The CFL Exchange is available in the lobby of the Cooperative's office on Colegate Drive in Marietta. Again, this is a bulb-for-bulb exchange, and members must bring in three incandescent bulbs to receive one package containing CFLs.
