Electrical Safety Demonstrations
Washington Electric Cooperative offers electrical safety presentations to area schools, civic organizations, farm groups and fire departments. The typical presentation lasts 30 to 40 minutes and demonstrates real-life situations where making the right decision can prevent serious injury or death. Presentations are free and available at any time subject to the cooperative's schedule. For more details, please contact the Member Services department at (740) 373-2141, extension 220.

McGruff Truck Program
The McGruff Truck Program's number one goal is making neighborhoods safer for children. This national program provides a way for Washington Electric Cooperative to offer help in emergency situations to anyone, especially young people. At the front and rear of all Washington Electric vehicles are decals showing the image of the well-known McGruff the Crime Dog. Our drivers are trained to use the co-op vehicle's two-way communications system to immediately summon appropriate help when flagged down by a child or individual in distress.

CFL Exchange
Members of Washington Electric Cooperative are invited to trade their used incandescent light bulbs for energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs - for free! Simply bring three incandescent light bulbs to our office at 406 Colegate Drive in Marietta to receive your free pack of three CFLs.

The cooperative also offers on-location CFL exchanges. If your organization is located within the co-op's service territory or serves cooperative members, please contact the co-op’s Member Services department to find out how to schedule an exchange at your location.
